Stories that Come Alive

A gently guided experience to ensure your family’s precious stories aren’t lost to the ‘someday’ list.

Time Passes.

Stories Should Be Passed On.

Every one of us carries a story worth keeping — the adventures, the lessons, the moments that shaped who we are.

The problem is, capturing them takes time and intention that most of us just can't seem to find.

That's exactly why we created Vivimoir - a living memoir.

We do the work for you — from the thoughtful questions to the high-quality recording to the final product — so it actually happens. Think of it as a relaxed, fireside chat with a friend who makes you want to reminisce. We guide the whole experience, so your loved one (or you) can simply show up and talk.

From there, we turn it into something lasting for your family to enjoy for generations: made-to-be-shared video stories that capture all the laughter and personality, beautifully designed keepsake books, and professional portrait sessions that freeze time.

Whether you're honoring an aging parent's lifetime of wisdom or capturing your own story while it's vivid and alive, Vivimoir sessions make sure those memories don't get lost on the never-ending ‘someday’ list."

In-person Vivimoir sessions are offered in the greater Seattle area, as well as Victoria BC. Virtual sessions are also available worldwide.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Honestly? Most people who mean to do this never do. Not because they don't care — they care deeply — but because between knowing you should, finding the time, setting up the equipment, figuring out what to ask, editing the footage, and turning it into something worth keeping, it lives permanently on the someday list. And someday has a way of running out.

Our trained team of story gatherers at Vivimoir take the whole thing off your plate. The questions, the recording, the editing, the finished product — handled. You don't have to be the one to make it happen. You just have to decide it's time.

  • The most meaningful way is a guided recorded interview conducted by someone trained to ask the right questions and actually takes the time. Vivimoir handles the entire process: the questions, the professional recording, and the final product (a keepsake video, a bound book, or both). Your parent just shows up and talks. The stories that might otherwise disappear become something the whole family can keep, and share, forever.

  • Fifty years together is not a occasion you mark with flowers or a restaurant reservation. It deserves something that honors the actual weight of what's been built — the story of two people who chose each other, and kept choosing each other, across five decades of a shared life.

A Vivimoir session captures that story while both people are here to tell it. The early years. The hard ones. What they'd want their grandchildren to know about love and commitment and what it actually takes. It becomes a video, a book, a piece of the family's permanent record — something that gets passed down the same way the best stories always have been: from one generation to the next.

Fifty years from now, no one will remember the flowers. They'll still be watching the video.

  • A lot of people can point a camera at someone and press record. Very few know how to make a person feel so at ease that they start telling the stories they've never told anyone.

Vivimoir was founded by 2 women with journalism and broadcast production roots. They know how to ask the question behind the question. How to follow a thread. How to sit in a silence long enough for the real story to surface.

But credentials only get you so far. What makes these conversations genuinely different is that we've also lived — through loss, through reinvention, through the kinds of chapters that teach you what actually matters. We're not interviewers executing a checklist. We're warm, curious humans who find other people's lives genuinely fascinating, and it shows.

The finished products reflect that care. Videos produced for immediate sharing — the kind your family actually watches, sends to each other, and saves. Beautifully designed books woven through with photos, built to sit on a coffee table and be picked up again and again. And for those who want it, a professional portrait session that captures who someone is right now, at this moment in their life.

Most legacy services give you a video, or a book. Vivimoir gives you something alive, worth sharing.

Our Process

Together, we'll map the shape of your life — the milestones, the themes, the stories that absolutely cannot be left out. We'll choose a date and a setting that feels right, and then we get to work on our end.

From there, you decide what you'd like to take home: a filmed interview, a keepsake book, a portrait session — or all of it. Every package is designed to be as simple or as full as you want it to be.

Initial Planning Meeting

We will provide a link where you can upload any photos or video clips you would like included in your video. This step is optional but often adds a very personal touch to the final product. We also offer a photo concierge service if you’d like help with this step which can be done before or after your interview.

Gather Memorabilia (optional)

On the day of our session we will set up a quiet, well-lit environment with 4k video and audio recording. It will feel intimate but professional - not a big camera crew. We will have a cup of coffee and chat to get acquainted before jumping into the interview. There are no right or wrong answers and we can take breaks at any point.

If you bring photos or memorabilia we will talk through them on camera.

We may also capture other B-roll footage of you in your environment if it might add to the story. This could be just a few seconds of you cutting flowers in your garden, laughing with a family member or spouse, or picking up photos on your mantel.

Relaxed Session Day

When your video, book, or portrait session is ready (typically 5-6 weeks depending on complexity of your video, additional photos or video clips being integrated, and publishing time for any books included) we will schedule a time to share your story with you and your immediate family. This is truly a time to celebrate your life with the people who love you. Grab a box of tissues because this is a fun and emotional experience.

Share, Enjoy, Cherish
