Story Spotlight: Michiko

Leah reached out because something rare was happening — her grandmother, mother, and aunt would all be in the same place at the same time. She didn't want to let it pass undocumented.

Michiko grew up in Misawa, Japan, and she still loves baking and makes her own traditional Japanese screens by hand. We lit them from behind for this special memory-making portrait session, and the light they cast through the room felt like something she'd carried with her across decades and an ocean.

What we captured was exactly what Leah hoped for: three generations of women who clearly love each other with their whole bodies — laughing, leaning in, holding on.. This was quintessential Vivimoir - living memories being made together and shared forever.
